Devin Falkner

What is your background / experience in real estate?

I started out in banking and finance, giving me eight years of experience with mortgage lending. Through those experiences I gained a great understanding of the real estate market.

A day in the life of Devin, looks like… ?

My life is the definition of our moto—Live, Work, Play. I love what I do. I’m constantly learning and absorbing all that comes my way. At any given time I am outdoors enjoying what this beautiful state has to offer. I also enjoy working out and am a huge movie buff.

What is your favorite outdoor activity Utah has to offer?

I am an avid golfer and outdoorsman. I love hiking, camping, and fly-fishing in all different parts of Utah. I also love Sunday drives with my wife, checking out the unique real estate Utah has to offer.

What is the funniest memory you have selling or showing a home?

I was touring condos in Park City with a couple clients. On one particular showing the tenants who were currently living there, were not notified of any showings that day. We walked in on the young tenants eating breakfast; they looked as if they had had a party the night before, as the condo was a complete mess! But luckily they let us continue the rest of the tour.

Describe your perfect Friday night.

Getting together with family and friends for a BBQ on a warm summer night. I also enjoy going on evening hikes to various places in the state.

In your opinion, the best kept secret in Utah is…. ?

I was born and raised in Utah, and I’m constantly finding new and exciting gems right in my backyard…

What is your favorite neighborhood (it doesn’t have to be the one in which you reside)?

I have always been a sucker for the Avenues in Salt Lake. While driving through the neighborhoods, I am constantly amazed with the history and charm. The Avenues have the most interesting properties I have ever seen.

What are your favorite local spots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (name one for each)?

Breakfast: Finns in Sugarhouse

Lunch: Mollie and Ollie downtown

Dinner: Cannella’s

Your dream home looks like… ?

I am in love with Mid-Century Modern. It would be tucked away somewhere quiet, surrounded by trees and landscaping. Furnished with vintage pieces from the mid century era, with plenty of natural light.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to help a client?

There is not much that I wouldn’t do to help a client. I’m always willing to go above and beyond. I have clients that rely on me and give me their full trust. I have to be willing to do whatever it takes to keep that trust.

What 5 words would you use to describe Salt Lake / Utah?

Beautiful, Mesmerizing, Unique, Adventurous, Limitless

If you could give clients one tiny piece of advice, what would it be?

Be open to gaining a lasting relationship with your agent. Remember, you are in this together. Your agent has your best interest in mind. This business is all about building and maintaining relationships.

What was the most difficult deal you’ve ever closed?

I have had a few difficult deals to close, but even more so on acquiring the listing itself. My clients at the time had a few bad experiences with agents in the past. After a few months of working hard to build a trusting relationship, I was finally able to list their amazing home.

Lastly, what is your favorite thing about being an agent at Live Work Play?

I love the people I work with, and what we stand for. This team is amazing. We do a lot together and better yet, we do a lot to help each other become successful. We are more than just your average team.
